Race Briefing Info
Registration
- IMPORTANT: Start times are approximate. While we try and make registration smoother and minimise waiting around by giving approx registration and start times it is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure they allow enough time to register, place running gear in transition and be poolside for their start
- Competitors with earlier start times will have registration priority
- All competitors to pick up race number
- Body Marking - race number to be put onto left leg and left arm
- As soon as competitors have registered make way around the outside of the pool to transition to place running gear (sign posted/marshalled)
*Tip - if you plan on coming back round the pool in bare feet old flip flops can be useful on the gravel path!
Safety Point: Under no circumstances can competitors enter the pool area via the doors by transition as this is where competitors will be exiting the pool
- Race belts recommended to display race number (safety pins will be provided if no race belt). There will be race belts for sale at registration
- There will be run maps at registration
Swim:
- The swim is 18 lengths of the 33m pool
- Swim caps to be allocated poolside
- Swim lane direction - as directed by race officials. Alternates by lane e.g.
lane 1 clockwise, lane 2 anti clockwise, lane 3 clockwise etc
- Two lengths before the end, you should receive a signal from the marshal, but please keep count yourself
- In the event of a potential counting query, the marshal has final say at poolside. Please report any queries at the finish to the race director
- Swim times are taken as you leave the pool area by the exit door (marked)
- Call out your race number when you exit the swim doors to the timing officials
Safety Point: There is no running inside the pool area
Transition:
- Race numbers - should be put on in transition after swim
- You must have your race number displayed on your front to exit
- It is an open transition area so please be mindful of people around you as you enter/exit
- It’s a relatively small transition area. To benefit all competitors, we ask you to leave a minimum amount of gear in transition (lockers are available in the pool changing rooms)
Run Course:
- The run is 4 laps of the park.
- The run course is well marked and marshalled.
- It is the participants responsibility to count their laps, however, there will be run marshals monitoring
- The course is within the boundaries of Morden Park. If you are on public roads then you have gone the wrong way!
- Please be polite and considerate of other park users. The park is open and used frequently by the public.
- Any cases of abuse of race marshals or public will result in disqualification
