Dear Race Entrant
Please see below instructions for the Morden Park Aquathlon, Sunday 9th May 2010.
Location: Morden Park Pool, London Road, Morden, Surrey SM4 5HE
Parking: Parking can be found in the pool car park. Parking is free on Sundays.
Race Start Time: We’ve grouped swimmers of a similar standard based on your estimated swim times.
The first starters will begin at 8.00am. Lowest numbers will start first (1,2,3...) with approx 3-4 swimmers at a time per lane.
IMPORTANT! THESE ARE APPROXIMATE TIMES.
IT IS EACH COMPETITORS RESPONSIBILITY to give yourself plenty of time to arrive, register, place your running gear in transition and be poolside for your race briefing.

Registration: Registration opens at 7.15am
At registration you will collect your race numbers and be marked up.
*IMPORTANT* If you are a BTA member and have paid £13 YOU MUST SHOW A VALID BTA LICENCE. If you fail to show your BTA licence you will be charged £4 for a day licence. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE
Transition Area: There will be a small transition area outside of the pool exit area. After registration you will be directed around the pool to this area. This is where you should leave only your running gear prior to the swim phase.
Changing facilities: Changing facilities are available within the pool building, including showers. We suggest you leave your bags and other clothes in the lockers here.
Swim (600m)
- Please be at poolside in plenty of time
- Competitors will have a short race briefing before their race start
- Morden park pool is a 33m pool. You will complete 18 lengths of the pool. 2 lengths before the end you will be given a signal from a marshal
- Swim times will be taken as you leave the pool area
*THERE WILL BE NO RUNNING ALLOWED IN THE POOL AREA*
Run (approx 6 miles)
- The run course is clearly marked and well marshalled. There will also be run maps displayed at registration
- A water station will be situated near the start/finish area
- Competitors will complete 4 laps of the course
- It is the competitors responsibility to count run laps (note there will be run marshalls monitoring)
- The course is entirely within the park. There is no need to leave the park. If you do you have gone the wrong way!
- Remember that the park is also used by the public. Please be polite and respectful of other park users!
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded near the finish area, once the provisional results have been verified.

Food and Drink: A food and drink van will be on site for those all important bacon buttie needs.
Massage: Post race massage will be available.
