Kingfisher Male/Female Triathlete of the Year
You have to race three club championship races to get a score. If you race more than three races, then your best three will count.
At least one of your races must be an open water swim
You must enter the race with "Kingfisher Triathletes" as your Club name
The point scoring is based on your time as a percentage of the winning time in your age group/race category. Where an age group has been split down into smaller age bands (eg. in the men's 30-34 at Eton), it will be your time against the time for the wave you are racing in. Where age groups have been lumped together (as happens with a number of women's races), it will be your time against the winning time for your BTA age category, unless these are not given in which case it will be the wave/race category.
Kingfisher best Male/Female Newcomer to the Sport
This award is only open to members who are in their first year of triathlon racing, and each athlete must race a minimum of 2 triathlon races. We take each athlete's time as a percentage of the winning time in their age group for each triathlon race they compete in and then take the average across all their races.
Kingfisher best Male/Female Long Distance Triathlete of the Year
This award is for all our long distance athletes who must race a minimum of 1 long course event or 2 middle distance events. We take each athlete's time as a percentage of the winning time in their age group for each long/middle distance race they compete in and then take the average across all their races.
