For the 17th year, Kingfisher Triathletes will be running the Kingfisher Aquathlon race in Morden Park. Morden Park Pool is the venue for the swim leg of the aquathlon. This is followed by a trail run through the park with a finish in front of picturesque Morden Hall.
The Morden Park venue is very well suited to host children. The swim is in the safe environment of the pool and the undulating run for the TriStar categories takes place on the grass area south and downhill from the pool/finish area. This run course also allows great viewing options for spectators. Youth and Junior category racers will run 2 loops of the regular course.
The Kingfisher Aquathlon has developed a reputation for its friendly atmosphere and great racing. The course is very well suited for novices, and experienced athletes will be challenged on the run especially. At the finish, the free for competitors Kingfisher homemade cake buffet will be waiting to refuel your energy supplies.
On race day the race registration opens at 7.15am and closes at 8.00am for TriStar and opens at 8:30 and closes at 9:30 for all other categories. The TriStar races start at 8.30am and competitors are set off at timed intervals based on estimated swim time and category. The Youth/Junior category starts at about 10am and is immediately followed by the adult race. We expect everyone to have finished by noon. The prize ceremony for the TriStar categories will take place around 10.20am and for the main race the prize ceremony will take place shortly after the last person finishes.
